Beginning in the fall of 2020, I took over as the lead designer for Talbot School of Theology's Talbot Magazine, a semiannual publication featuring relevant theological and current cultural topics with pieces written by Talbot faculty or friends of Talbot. The magazine also provides updates to its readership on Talbot happenings, while spotlighting new books written by Talbot professors.

My role as the designer for Talbot Magazine allows me to work closely with the editorial board to create . Below, I've highlighted the spreads of each issue's main feature articles, as they require original layouts involving photography and illustration. These first two issues were published during the COVID-19 pandemic and thus had to rely solely on illustration for their feature articles, as we weren't shooting new photography.

As of now, there has been a total of nine issues of Talbot Magazine produced, two of which I've had the pleasure to put together.

Editor: Ashish J. Naidu
Creative Director: Jason Newell

Project completed while Graphic Designer at Biola University.

Fall 2020
Volume 4, Issue 2

Excerpt from magazine introductary article "From the Dean" by Clinton Arnold, Dean of Talbot School of Theology:
"In this issue of the Talbot magazine, Joe Hellerman writes on the church as a family and Rick Langer presents his thoughts on how Christians can have “faithful disagreement.” Both of these essays are timely, relevant and needed for the important perspective they bring."

Summer 2021
Volume 5, Issue 1

Excerpt from magazine introductary article "From the Dean" by Clinton Arnold, Dean of Talbot School of Theology:
"In this issue of the Talbot magazine, Eddie Byun writes about his own experience of responding to the cries of women caught up in sex trafficking. Thaddeus Williams provides us with perspective on the call to biblical justice while avoiding a form of social justice that loses sight of the gospel. You will find these essays inspiring, challenging and helpful."
