This project was made to help establish an identity for a fictional coffee shop, using a marketing material piece and a business card. This branding project needed to convey the main design and communicate the purpose/function of the coffee brand in an effective and engaging manner.

"Sirius Black Coffee is a new coffee shop in Hogsmeade, pushing the wizarding world into a new age of fostering conversations and breaking stereotypes. As the first of many different installations, Sirius Black Coffee sets out to be an example of what is to come. Our shop brings a modern aesthetic to Hogsmeade, while still maintaining the warmly lit, traditional feel of our beloved Hogwarts. We function as a place where wizards can interact and build communities of all ages, even providing another studying environment for Hogwarts students.

We take our goal and this refresh seriously beyond exterior aesthetic. We're especially dedicated to honouring the past as we challenge the future. In leading the way, we felt it befitting to pay homage to the late Sirius Black in naming our coffee shop — seeking to restore his name and legacy, honour his life, and all the more demand the growth of our community. We want this space to be used for fostering new and innovative ideas, stimulating much-needed conversations, resolving our differences, and strengthening our wizarding home."

The Marketing Material

This original instruction for creating the marketing material was to make a brochure. With Sirius Black Coffee, however, it felt more fitting to create a uniquely-folded piece to match the out-of-the-ordinary coffee shop. As the marketing material is opened flap-by-flap, it serves to break down all the existing assumptions that might surround the name of the coffee shop, before reaching the fully-opened state, where it will explain the background and purpose of the shop.
